I wear makeup daily (unless I'm home all day), so after reading that last bit, I was hooked. We ordered it online from TheShoppingChannel.com, but unfortunately they aren't selling the Mia anymore. They're selling the regular version though, which comes with two speeds instead of the Mia's one."Sonic skin cleansing improves skin tone, reduces the appearance of pore size and helps skin care products work their best. The Clarisonic Skin Cleansing System uses a patented sonic frequency of more than 300 movements per second to clean, soften and smooth skin. In just 60 seconds, the micro-massage action removes 6X more makeup and 2X more dirt and oil than cleansing with your hands alone. Removing more dirt and oil from your pores also helps products work more effectively."
The boxes within boxes.. there was actually another box housing that big one just for delivery.
Immediately after my first use, it made my skin feel smooth to the touch. I'd never had it feel that way before, so I knew the Mia was going to be a great investment. We paid $149 plus tax, plus $6.95 for shipping and handling (in four installments, yay!).
The small box contains two cleansers (Refreshing and Nourishing Gel Cleaners) and a replacement brush in 'Normal'.
A few months later, people started noticing my clear skin--one of my boyfriend's cousins (a guy, might I add!) asked me what I use. I told him I didn't always have great skin and he said he remembers the time I didn't... hah! We're all about honestly and candidness here, right?
Anyway, as I nurse my crushed ego (kidding!), I told him my one skincare secret, the Clarisonic. Immediately he was turned off by the price. But, I guarantee you that it's worth it. It's worth every single penny.
I've had one customer at work tell me I look like I'm 'glowing' like J. Lo. Really? And a sales associate from The Body Shop thought my skin was genetic... oh how I wish it were.. my mom has great skin!
The real deal: the Mia with the Gentle Hydro Cleanser, a short User Guide, and the charger.
The Clarisonic helps your skincare products sink in a lot better and faster. It takes off all your makeup at the end of the day. It controls your skin's oil production. It buffs away rough, dead skin through daily microdermabrasion.
It's gentle enough to use twice a day--morning and evening.
There are three brush types: delicate, sensitive, and normal. 'Delicate' is for those who have really... yes, delicate skin, and those who suffer from rosacea. 'Sensitive', the most popular brush type, is for all skin types. This is the reason why it's the brush that comes attached with the device when you buy it. And I'd recommend 'Normal' for guys to use to prep their skin prior to shaving.
For my cleanser I use Biotherm's Biopur Pore Reducer Gentle Purifying Gel. I use a gel formula because I currently have combination skin. For dry skin, a cream cleanser is recommended; and for oily skin, a gel or liquid cleanser would work best. Click here to read my skincare routine post!
Here's a video I filmed for the iheartblush channel on Youtube, it includes a how-to demo:
Let me know if there was something you'd like to know that I forgot to mention!
