In case you were wondering, I'm not talking about my grandma ("lola" in Tagalog means "grandmother"). My boyfriend and I's little westie turned two years young today! He's at work right now so I have the day to spend with her. We threw her a birthday party last year in my backyard with the cousins' dogs but the weather's not co-operating today so we've postponed the party plans for now. I decided to bake some peanut butter cookies with her instead. I used this recipe on Bullwrinkle.com. I baked them for 16 minutes at 180'C--
2 cups whole-wheat flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
1 cup peanut butter (chunky or smooth)
1 cup milk Preheat oven to 375'F. In a bowl, combine flour and baking powder. In another bowl, mix peanut butter and milk, then add to dry ingredients and mix well. Place dough on a lightly floured surface and knead. Roll dough to 1/4 inch thickness and use a cookie cutter to cut out shapes. Bake for 20 minutes on a greased baking sheet until lightly brown. Cool on a rack, then store in an airtight container. --- This is the original recipe, but I have found the cookies burn easily.
She actually chose the shapes by sniffing them out from a pile.. I'm such a sucker haha!
Munching on a few crumbs! She's had about five cookies at this point.
And because it's her birthday, here's some more photos of my little darling:
Happy birthday Lola!
