Today marks the first day I try a fad diet, the Cabbage Soup diet. It promises an average of 10 lbs weight loss (albeit water weight) after seven days--the diet duration.
The diet provides a 7-day list of what you can eat, mainly consisting of cabbage soup, and fruits and vegetables. Towards the end of the diet, you can incorporate steak/chicken/fish as a source of protein.
Well today is day one, and I'd be lying if I said I'm not a tad bit nervous about this diet. My boyfriend's personal trainer mentioned and and now we're on our way. For reference, I'm standing at 5'2, and my current weight is 108 lbs.
I'm eating an apple at this moment (Oct 18 9:15 am), and it will be followed by another apple and a plum. For lunch, I've packed some cabbage soup.
If you're wondering why I'm doing this diet, I'm really just curious to see if it works. If I lose some retained water, that'd be an added bonus. My boyfriend's tried the Master Cleanse at some point, but that's too hard for me to even attempt. At least I can still eat with this diet.
Anyway, I'll be updating this post a couple of times a day and I'll date/time them for accuracy.
Wish me luck!
I'll be updating my twitter frequently throughout this diet, so follow me at @alexisvalerie

Okay so I don't think my body liked the idea of starvation.
When I heard about this diet, I thought, "Hey, it's not so bad, you actually get to eat as much as you want whenever you want." But I didn't realize eating fruits only or vegetables only for the whole day would make my body feel like crap.
Honestly, I felt easily irritated, and by day two (yesterday), I decided to start healthy eating instead. Forget the fad diet, and the hope of losing 10 lbs in a week. If anything, this diet has taught me that eating healthy (aka eating more vegetables) doesn't sound so bad. If I can eat fruits/vegetables only for a whole day, why not incorporate that into my regular eating habits? And the boyfriend and I decided to get to the gym at least five times a week. That should whip us up into shape!
Long story short, I had a cup of rice yesterday. I'm through with this diet!
