You know that feeling when you're so excited for something and it's all you can think about? Well that's how I feel about this holiday season. I've been waiting for it to arrive, and now that it's here, that giddy feeling still won't go away. What I love most about this season is that I get to spend time with family... well, who am I kidding, I love the shopping part of it! Don't get me wrong, I do love spending time with my family, but buying them gifts gives me a good reason--or excuse, rather--to shop! I wish I could tell you guys what I got them as gifts but that'll have to wait till after Christmas..
As I'm sure you have a whole slew of parties to attend this season, and probably a piece or two (or more) of sparkling beauties, I'm going to show you how not to go overboard with your outfit.
The key to wearing sparkle/embellishments/glitter is to stick to one piece per outfit. You want to create harmony and balance between your clothes and accessories. I've created four sets to show you how to incorporate this season's biggest trend.
LOOK 1 - The SEQUIN TOP: I've paired the sequin top with cropped cigarette pants in a neutral silver white shade. Accessorized with metallic tassel heels, a snakeskin clutch, and statement jewellery. The pants create a balance between the embellished top and the metallic shoes.
LOOK 2 - The SEQUIN DRESS: I've paired it with a heavy fur coat, and accessorized it with a quilted chain purse, a leather bib necklace, stacked rings, and a statement shoe. I love the juxtaposition of the leather bib necklace against the feminine outfit.
Happy holidays everyone!
